Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff is starting the New Year with a cross-Canada campus tour to meet with young Canadians in the lead-up to Canada at 150: Rising to the Challenge – a non-partisan conference being held in Montreal in March 2010.

Joining MP Joyce Murray will be:
Dave Marmorek, Science – Aquatic Ecosystems (ESSA Technologies)
Dave is an aquatic ecologist with 30 years of experience in predicting and assessing the potential impacts of human activities on ecosystems and developing plans to rehabilitate damaged ecosystems and recover threatened biota. Dave, the author of over 20 peerreviewed publications, is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University. David also serves on science advisory panels for Puget Sound and Platte River ecosystem recovery efforts.
Eugene Hodgson, Clean Energy (Corpfinance International Ltd.)
Eugene began his public sector career in the Northwest Territories where he acted as Senior Policy Advisor on resource based projects. In the early 80’s he served as Executive Assistant to the Minister of the Environment, Lands, Parks and Housing in the British Columbia Government. Eugene is Co-Chair of the BC Wind Energy Association and a member of the Government Relations committee of CANWEA and a Director of the Independent Power Producers of BC.
Bernie Clark, Science – Remote Sensing (MDA)
Bernie Clark is an executive vice-president at MDA, one of Canada’s largest and oldest high-tech space company and a world leader in the field of remote sensing – observing and monitoring changes on the earth from air and space. Bernie has been educating changing climate through a series of multimedia presentations called please Mind the Planet (www.MindThePlanet.org).
Donald Gordon, Grassroots Advocacy (Voters Taking Action on Climate Change)
Donald Gordon is a homebuilder and a founder of Voters Taking Action on Climate Change (VTACC). VTACC aims to empower voters concerned with the lack of government policy to reduce carbon emissions. VTACC seeks to provide voters with information to so that they can better participate in democratic processes as informed voters. VTACC is a 100% voluntary organization with a strong support base in the Lower Mainland, and a network of supporters across BC and the rest of Canada.
Aidan Vining, Academic – Public Policy (SFU)
Aidan R. Vining is a Professor of Business and Government Relations in the Segal Graduate School of Business, Simon Fraser University, He is currently the Academic Director of the Executive MBA at the Segal School. Previously, he was a faculty member at the Faculty of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. He has served as a consultant to both the British Columbian Government (Ministry of the Environment) and the Canadian Government.
