Recognizing the need to change the way we approach food, the Government of Canada has entered public consultations on A Food Policy for Canada.
On June 29th as part of these consultations I hosted a National Food Policy Round Table at our constituency office, with a wide range of stakeholders including City of Vancouver and UBC representatives. We tackled a wide variety of topics, but at the core of the discussion was the desire for the federal government to have an active hand in managing food policy at the local level.
Now it’s your turn. A Food Policy for Canada is hosting an online survey asking all Canadians about your priorities about food – security, safety, production, distribution, or anything else to do with our food supply. The survey closes on August 31st, and is available in both English and French.
In less than 10 minutes, you can let your voice be heard.
