I’d like to thank everyone for our successful Canada 150 celebration at the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum!
On Canada Day over 700 friends from around the neighbourhood enjoyed live entertainment, face painting hot dogs, cake and carnival games as we celebrated Canada’s 150th anniversary together. We all shared what we love about Canada by writing stories on a Canada 150 flag.
Guests were treated to live performances by the delightful Klondike Kate and to a freestyle rap by Baba Brinkman, with The Fraser River Ramblers bringing the day to a close, playing until the last guests departed.
The Old Hastings Mill Store Museum was also open all afternoon for those who wanted to learn more about the oldest building in Vancouver. With the help of the Native Daughters of British Columbia, who run the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum, we held our first ever raffle, with a grand prize worth $600.
Thank you to the volunteers for the hard work that went into creating this event, the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum for hosting the celebration, and to our generous community donors. Until next year!
