On Friday July 22, MP Joyce Murray hosted a “world café” style of public roundtable discussion on the future of Canada Post with members of the community, current union employees, and retired postal workers. This group of stakeholders offered a variety of opinions and expertise that were invaluable in understanding what the future of Canada Post may look like. Based on the slideshow provided through the online consultation, our discussion was structured with the aim of generating useful information for the federal government to consider.

From September to November of 2016, the Government of Canada will be conducting an independent review of Canada Post which will ensure that it not only provides the high-quality service that Canadians deserve, but also at a reasonable and competitive price. As part of this review, we will be undertaking public consultations to hear from Canadians regarding the future of Canada Post’s mandate and services – including postal banking.
