Thank you all for the messages of support and good wishes many of you have been sending, by telephone, email and through social media.
Like many Canadians, I viewed with deep interest the new cabinet unveiled by our new Liberal Prime Minister this morning. This new cabinet is comprised of a great people, it represents Liberals from across the country and it reflects the many facets that make up the fabric of our great country.
I was especially pleased that one of the things that I have long advocated for, a gender balance in cabinet, has been achieved.
The role of a cabinet minister is of course an important one; it is however also important to have hard working Members of Parliament filling positions on committees and working directly for the interests of those who they represent in the riding. I am fully prepared to contribute in any role asked of me and my support of the Party and our leader is unwavering.
I am so thankful for the support shown to me by the voters in Vancouver Quadra and by the many volunteers who made this victory possible. It is a privilege and an honour to continue to serve as your Member of Parliament in this exciting time of positive change.
